August 2010 Feature Article: Give Yourself Time
There are generally two wedding seasons a year, which happen around Spring and Autumn. So to fit all the brides into a very short space of time, it would help to keep in mind, if you are planning to have a couture wedding dress, that the process from designing your gown to the finished garment is a fairly lengthy one, depending on all the intricacies in the design of the gown, of course. So it is a good idea to start the process a minimum of six months before the actual wedding day. That is of course if you have not planned your wedding within only a few months.
If you have only given yourself a few months/weeks to get a dress made, don’t worry, it is possible to make a dress in a short period of time, however you may have to free yourself for fitting appointments. Happy planning to all you brides to be out there!
